Great Exercise Routines
Gentle and Fun Exercises!

US MED Gives BackQi Gong (pronounced "chee-gong") is a gentle form of exercise that's very similar to tai chi or yoga. It consists of slow, natural movements that help you breathe, stretch, build strength, and improve your mood.

It's great for seniors because it is mild and gentle. Qi Gong started in Asia over 2000 years ago, and it is now practiced all over the world by people of all ages and fitness levels.

In January of 2010, the American Geriatrics Society released new guidelines on exercise for older persons. They singled out Qi Gong as an exercise to improve balance and reduce falls.

The National Institute of Health recommends Qi Gong for seniors. Routines are 7 to 30 minutes long and include exercises for people who are seated.
